More automation can create more review work.
Speed without structure can multiply oversight.
Automation promises to reduce effort, but it can also increase the volume of work that needs attention. When AI generates ten versions where there used to be one, review must scale with output or the team drowns.
The burden shifts rather than disappears. Instead of making the thing, people spend their time checking ten things. If the workflow was not designed for review, the result is more pressure, not less.
Automation scales execution. Review must scale with it.
This does not mean automation is bad. It means automation and review must be designed together. The right question is not how much AI can produce, but how the team can confidently decide what moves forward.
Good context, clear ready criteria, and meaningful human gates make review manageable. Without them, more output simply creates more uncertainty.
